Parochial Curacy St. Elisabeth-Christ the King, Burgwald
In 1946, Catholic life came back to Burgwald in Upper Hesse with expelled Catholics from the Czech Republic. With them came the priest of the Teutonic Order and later Grand Master, Br. Ildefons Pauler. He is said to be the founder and pioneer of ecclesiastical life in Burgwald. in 1957, the church of Christ the King in Ernsthausen, and in 1959 the main church St. Elisabeth in Burgwald were built on his initiative.
Until today the diaspora parish is still taken care of by priests of the German Order. The parochial curacy St. Elisabeth – Christ the King comprises fourteen villages, all around the city Frankenberg, District of Waldeck-Frankenberg.
