The brothers of the German province are predominantly active in the field of parish pastoral care. Moreover, the province is responsible for the place of pilgrimage Maria-Birnbaum (Sielenbach) and – through the Deutschordenswerke - is carrier of numerous social and charitable facilities in the fields of providing assistance to the elderly and the handicapped, addiction aid and youth welfare services.
The brothers live in establishments (convents) and sites of operation, both in parishes as well as in the social and charitable facilities of the German Order. By providing pastoral care to people in their everyday lives but also in times of distress, and by making the reality of God present in this world by means of their own existence and company, the brothers pursue the traditions of the Order in a contemporary manner.
